November has been a great month for sales of my prints to collectors around the world. I have my images on Pictorem, which is great for having free shipping in the US and Canada, and on Pixels (or Fine Art America) which has many products that you can apply images to and also has printing facilities in Europe. Both have 30-day money-back guarantees that the work will delight you!
I did sell several images printed onto mugs and onto a T-shirt, but I think I will ignore those for this review. My first print sale was of a delightful little puffin running across the surface of the water in Resurrection Bay near Seward in Alaska, trying to get airborne:
A buyer in Foxton near Cambridge in England bought this one as a print rolled in a tube for shipping.
Next up was an image of Gamla Stan in Stockholm, Sweden, bought by a military person in my hometown of Morgantown, West Virginia. Perhaps they had been stationed in Sweden during their service – it is interesting to wonder what the connection is. But I hope they are happy with it!
This was my original photo taken from a departing cruise ship and then digitally painted as a watercolor as I thought that made this much more dreamlike and worthy of framing! In the photo you can see many more details of modernity, which is hidden in a painting.
A buyer in Aurora, CO, who I think saw my work in a Kauai discussion group on Facebook bought a 1000-piece jigsaw of this painted version of a photo I took about 10 years ago of a Hawaiian canoe on the beach by the pier in Hanalei, Kauai. The canoe is not there any longer and so this is a unique view!
Finally, one of my favorite Morgantown images was purchased as a print twice in the month. The first was a collector in Princeton, WV and then the second was to a buyer from Ephraim in New Jersey. My thanks to both of them!
This, of course, is not an accurate rendition of the scene! The statue is on the opposite side of the road at WVU but it would be nice to imagine it in a different setting. I wrote an article recently about the statue and my ideas of where it could have been installed!
Hopefully more news at the end of December! And if you are in need of that perfect gift for a lover of Morgantown or West Virginia, don’t forget that my calendar can be printed and delivered to your door in time for the holidays!

9 Dec 2022These are wonderful, I can see why they sold. I particularly like the vibrance and energy of the shot of the puffin! I hope he managed take off in the end!

11 Dec 2022While the puffin is a cute photo, and I know getting a decent picture of a moving target like that takes a combination of skill and luck – I gotta go with the Hawaiian canoe. I love not only the composition, but the wonderfully saturated colors.

11 Dec 2022Yes, that puffin was tricky and there were many “outtakes”! I also really like the Hawaiian Canoe!

12 Dec 2022Wonderful photography and digital creations, Steve! I especially like the watercolor of the Stockholm skyline!
Steve Heap
12 Dec 2022Thanks! Yes, I think the watercolor works well on those sort of skyline images and hides the modern bits like cranes on the waterfront!
